Please allow me to introduce myself, my name
is Chuck Mathes. I have been involved with musical instruments
and amplifiers for over thirty years. As a guitar player and musician
I know what a properly maintained amplifier should sound like. I am a
graduate with distinction with an Associate of Applied Science degree in
Electronic Engineering Technology from SCC Milford. My experience repairing
amplifiers began over fifteen years ago while attending college. Since then
I have serviced many amps and pieces of musical electronic equipment. I began
building my own amplifiers in the 1990's and have since built amplifiers for
Wright Amplification and others using vintage correct construction and building
techniques and refining the legendary vintage circuits of the past as well as
building amps with modern circuits and gain structures. You can view a Harmony Central
review of an amp I built
here.
Over the years I have gained a valuable understanding of what makes an amp sound good and
what it takes to make the amp reliable and provide trouble free operation. I understand how
important your equipment is to you, which is why attention to detail and getting the job done
right the first time are always a priority. The repair shop is outfitted with well maintained
electronic test and measurement equipment and a large inventory of repair parts is kept in stock.
At Mathes Amplification you get to speak directly with the service technician and your satisfaction
is top priority.
Mission Statement: To make amps sound good, have fun,
help you get compliments on your tone and put a smile on your face.
